Frequency is one of the most significant factors in determining the timeline of your skill development. Like many psychomotor skills, appropriately paced, consistent and repetitive practice can be the most effective approach. We recommend practicing an hour or more each day in a range of speeds that surround your current skill level.
Here are some other tips to improve your writing:
Take time to STOP, LOOK and CHANGE
STOP at the end of an exercise
LOOK at the feedback in Realtime Coach™, review your CAT screen and steno notes to identify specific errors and patterns
CHANGE your writing patterns, dictionary, writer settings, concentration skills -- whatever it takes!
Stop, look, change -- practice your problem areas until they become strengths! As you follow this pattern, your speed and accuracy will improve more steadily, and your skill as a "realtime" reporter will increase.
Experiment with the different media and coaching settings
Use Video, Audio and Text modes to practice realtime writing in different ways
Use Focused RePractice™ to build accuracy
Use Check Entire Exercise at higher speeds for realtime speed building
