Diagnostic Test #3: Realtime Output (Web Browser)
Step 2: Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, and open a page that displays a web form with a large text field (e.g. blog entry, forum post, composing a new e-mail, etc.).
Step 3: With your cursor in a large web form text field, key in a paragraph or two with your writer. You should get one of three results:
-
No text appears (If you passed
Test #2, most likely user error)
-
Make sure the CAT file is open and ready for realtime output. Verify that your writer is turned on and properly connected. Make sure the
browser window has focus (cursor is in the text field).
-
For DigitalCAT™, wait up to 30 seconds for the text to begin feeding.
-
If you have not passed
Test #2, perform it now until passed. Repeat Step 3
-
-
You have successfully passed Test #3. Continue to
Test #4.
-
-
If you completed
Test #2 successfully (i.e. your text appeared properly in that test), the issue is likely the result of another program, process or plug-in interfering with your browser. Jump to
